IB HL Exam Credit
IB HL Exam Credit
You may earn credit by exam by submitting a qualifying score on an International Baccalaureate Higher Level (IB HL) exam. This page outlines the process for submitting and confirming IB HL scores and the Notre Dame credit granted for qualifying scores on accepted exams.
Submitting IB HL Scores
An official Transcript of Examination Grades must be sent by the IB Office (New York, Geneva, or London) to the University of Notre Dame. Notre Dame only awards credit for IB HL exams passed with scores of 6 or 7, depending on the exam. Notre Dame does not award credit for Standard Level (SL) exams.
Incoming students can verify that they have been granted appropriate credit for IB exams by accessing the “Grade History” app on InsideND in mid-July. (Search “Grade History” within the InsideND portal).
If you have not been granted IB credit you have earned by mid-July:
- Save your IB score report as a PDF with your first and last name and ND ID (your nine-digit 902 number) as the file name. (Example: Jane Doe 902xxxxxx)
- Submit the PDF of your score report using this form. [This form will be turned on in July 2024.]
