First-Year Student Summer 2024 To-Do List

First week of May: Activate your NetID

Due May 21: Submit the Pre-Advising Academic Survey between May 7 and May 21

Due May 24: Authorize payers in IRISHPAY (Questions? Check out the Office of Student Accounts FAQ page.)

Due May 28: Take the ND Calculus Readiness Test if needed
June
- Due June 3: Complete your housing application

Due June 3: Request accessibility support through the Center for Student Support and Care if needed; housing accommodation requests are due June 3. This is the priority deadline for the first-year student housing application.

First week of June: Schedule an appointment with your first-year advisor beginning June 3 and begin Module 1 of the Summer Advising Module in Canvas. Find directions on how to complete Module 1 of the Summer Advising Module in the email sent from your First Year Advisor on May 29. Complete the module before meeting with your first-year advisor.

Due June 12: Register to take a placement exam for Chinese, Japanese, or Korean if needed

June 18-20: Attend an academic advising Q&A session via Zoom

Due June 20: Request all Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate Higher Level (IB HL) scores (including those taken before your senior year of high school) be sent to Notre Dame. (Questions? Check out Sending AP Scores and How to use your free score send from the College Board and Requesting transcripts and certificates from the IB.)

Last week of June: Check your assigned registration day and time

July
- Due July 5: Submit your immunization records to University Health Services between May 1 and July 5. (Note: It may take 2 - 3 weeks for your immunization information to be processed. As long as immunization records are submitted before July 5, this processing delay will not affect your registration.)
- Due July 8: Take an ND language placement exam if needed

July 9-11: Attend an academic advising Q&A session via Zoom

Due July 10: Add a section of FYS 10101 in your residential neighborhood to your PATH plan and write down alternative sections in your neighborhood
- Due July 12: Submit a photo for your Irish1Card
- Due July 12: Meet with your first-year advisor via Zoom between June 3 and July 12. After you meet with your advisor, begin Module 2 of the Summer Advising Module in Canvas. Complete the module before registering for classes the third week of July.

Due July 12: Make and save a plan for your courses in PATH and write down alternative courses and times of courses

Day before you register: Check your PATH plan the day before registration to make sure that it is complete and you do not have any error messages

Third week of July: Register for courses

Due August 5: Register for your preferred lecture in Welcome Weekend’s First Lecture Series between July 24 and August 5 (required)

Due August 16: Register for a ND Math Credit Exam if needed

Due August 23: Complete the ND Survey for New Students (sent to your ND Gmail account in late July)
