First-Year Student Summer 2023 To-Do List

Use this list to track your completion of all required academic and student life tasks before you arrive in August!

Academic Tasks

• Activate your NetID in the first week of May
• Submit the Pre-Advising Academic Survey by May 23
• Take the ND Calculus Readiness Test if needed by May 30
• Request accessibility support through the Center for Student Support and Care if needed; housing accommodation requests are due June 5
• Attend an academic advising information session via Zoom on May 30, May 31, or June 1
• Schedule an appointment with your first-year advisor beginning June 1
• Meet with your first-year advisor via Zoom between June 5 and July 14
• Register to take a placement exam for Chinese, Japanese or Korean if needed by June 12
• Check your assigned registration day and time in the last week of June
• Sign the Academic Code of Honor by June 30
• Verify that ND has received your AP scores, IB scores, and/or SAT II language scores in the first week of July
• If you intend to take an ND Math Credit Exam on August 18, sign up with Residential Life for an arrival time between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM.
• Take an ND language placement exam if needed by July 10
• Make and save a plan for your courses in PATH by July 14
• Write down alternative courses and times of courses by July 14
• Add a section of FYS 10101 in your residential neighborhood to your PATH plan and write down alternative sections in your neighborhood in the first week of July
• Check your PATH plan the day before registration in the third week of July
• Register for courses in the third week of July
• Check your course schedule in the last week of July
• Register for a ND Math Credit Exam if needed by August 9
• Register for your preferred lecture in Welcome Weekend’s First Lecture Series between July 28 and August 9

Student Life Tasks

• Authorize payers in IRISHPAY by May 25
• Complete your housing application by June 5
• Submit your immunization records to University Health Services between May 5 and June 30
• Submit a photo for your Irish1Card by July 16
• Complete AlcoholEdu between July 28 and August 17
• Complete Building Community the Notre Dame Way between July 28 and August 17
