About the Lecturer

Professor Stevenson is an internationally recognized leader in the area of signal, image, and video processing. He is an exceptional teaching, having received the College of Engineering Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award in 2024, the Edmund P. Joyce C.S.C. Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2023 and the Department of Electical Engineering Outstanding Teacher Award in 2023. Dr. Stevenson received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and joined the faculty at the University of Notre Dame in 1990. He was promoted to professor of Electrical Engineering in 2002 and currently serves as the Associate Chair and Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Department. is an expert in enhancing image and video signal . His research focuses on the capture and enhancement of high quality image and video signals. His work has been supported by leading technology corporations such as Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Motorola as well as numerous government agencies such as the National Science Foundation, US Air Force Research Labs, the US Naval Research Laboratory.
