Academic Advising
Academic Advising
What is Academic Advising?
Inspired by Notre Dame's Vision for Undergraduate Education, each undergraduate student receives support and guidance from an academic advisor in their college or school. Advising teams from your academic program work with you to provide unsurpassed guidance and nurturing during your intellectual journey as a member of the Notre Dame community.
Your advisor will help you lay the foundations of a coherent educational plan that addresses your unique abilities, aspirations, interests, and values, as well as encourage you to shape a vision for your education that speaks to the meaning of what you want to achieve. Our time-tested advising process ensures that each student receives proactive attention and personal support not only in the intensive decision-making that takes place at the start of every college career, but throughout one's academic journey.

Your Academic Advisor:
- Is assigned to you specifically according to your academic interests and intended college/school.
- Is your point of contact for course registration, academic exploration, and planning your journey at Notre Dame.
- Is equipped to address your questions, needs, and concerns and connect you with all corners of campus.
- Is available to meet with you throughout your entire four years.
- Is a professional staff or faculty member, who will help you explore your curricular options, build a plan for your time at Notre Dame, learn Notre Dame’s registration system, and support you towards graduation and beyond.
